Dear all,

Thank God for an encouraging attendance of about twenty non-CU members and about ten CU members at our first International Café on Friday two days ago. Before that, a few of us went out to hand out flyers. Many people who received the flyers on that day just turned up at the door, which I am very grateful for.

Richard showed a video interview of international people answering the question “What do I want most in life?” and later gave a talk on there is more to life than getting a first class honours. What was striking to me about what he said was that a first class degree does not satisfy, is not secure, and does not save us from life’s troubles and ultimately death.

We had them pin on the world map the countries they are from. We thought for subsequent cafés we can get them to have name tags. Perhaps they could even greet each other in their own language or even write something in their language on the board.

Of the conversations that were had, Richard spoke to Sam who was enquiring further as to why he thought a degree would not satisfy. Of those who filled in the response questionnaires, Ben ticked the boxes that he would like to find out more about Jesus’s life and claims, and also receive an article on some apologetic topics. Please pray for their salvation.

Let’s pray this week that God will bring people with the same heart for internationals.

In Christ,
Joel Boon
