Good Morning!

It's Thursday, the penultimate day of Events Week 2018! Thank you for sticking with us in prayer so far, please do continue for the last couple of days. Today we have two events: our third lunchbar with Stephen speaking on 'Coming Home: Finding Peace', and a theatrical production with a Q&A on Science and Faith this evening.

Please pray:

- For Stephen as he prepares his talk. Pray that he would convey sensitively that Jesus is the only way to true peace, however controversial that seems in our world. Pray that people might encounter a new way of finding peace and that they would draw close to God as a result.

- For members of the CU as weariness begins to take effect towards the end of the week. Pray that God would be strengthening us as we push through the final two days.

- For people inviting friends, that they would be bold and not feel ashamed to keep inviting people to events, nor would they be discouraged by rejection. Pray that we might know that God is in control, working on his perfect terms.

- For those being invited, that they would be receptive and open to the events, and that God would be softening the hearts of those who come.

- As we begin to think about follow-up: please pray for Curious, our weekly discussion group, which starts up again next Wednesday off the back of events week. Pray that we would be inviting friends, and that we wouldn't stop chatting with people about Jesus just because the week is over.

Praise God for:

- Another full lunchbar yesterday and prayer breakfast this morning! Praise God for the commitment of CU members in the midst of studies, and for the encouragement that it is to see full rooms.

- Friends coming to events. Praise God that people are coming back to events off the back of those earlier in the week. Pray that God would be revealing himself to them, and that the CU would be effective in follow-up.

- Our CUGs (CU Guests) that have been invaluable in helping the CU in the running/logistics of the events, in chatting to friends, in our first-contact evangelism, and in all the other support they have given us. Pray that they too would be strengthened as they begin to grow weary towards the end of the week.

We are so grateful to you all, please continue to pray as we draw near to the end of the week, particularly that we would not begin to drift but that we'd push right through to the end!

In Christ
