Good morning!
Day TWO of events week is here and we have two fabulous events happening today: a lunchbar with a talk from Stephen Foster titled 'Coming Home: Finding Your Worth', and an evening talk from Dr. John Wyatt on 'Why is life such a struggle?' tackling the topic of suffering.
For today, we ask that you pray:
- For speakers Stephen Foster and John Wyatt as they make their final preparations. May they be God-focused in their prep and in their talks, and may God be speaking through them, engaging people and softening their hearts to hear his message. Particularly for John Wyatt may he speak honestly but sensitively on the difficult topic of suffering.
- For friends we've invited, and those who will be invited today. May they be responsive to our invitations and may their workload this week be light to free them up for the events.
- For good conversations at the events and for good follow-up after them.
- For a good turnout at both talks.
- For the logistics of the events, that they would run smoothly and that we'd continue trusting God's sovereignty in that.
We want to express again just how grateful we are for you and for your prayers for us. In just one day, and one event, we have already been blessed with some great encouragements.
Please praise God for:
- After two years of persistent praying and inviting, Katie's friends finally came along to the bandnight at Reynold's last night! Pray that they would continue to be responsive to Katie's invites and would come back for more events this week.
- Thank God for all the friends of ours who came to the bandnight. Pray they'd come to other events and not only hear the gospel preached, but that God would be actively working in their hearts. May they be curious, inquisitive, and may we be wise in our conversations with them.
- For the large venue that we have been provided with to run our lunchbars this year! Praise God for such a welcoming space. Pray that people would feel at home there, and not rush off but feel comfortable staying and chatting about what they've heard.
- Praise God for another huge prayer breakfast this morning, including a number of students from HTB! Pray that that may continue throughout the week as people begin to get tired, and that regulars would be welcoming to the newcomers.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support.
In Christ,
ICCU Committee
