<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Dear Zimuzo ,<span lang=EN-US><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Congratulations on being elected to be a Club, Society or
Project officer! This is a really great opportunity to get more involved with
your Group and the Union in general. <span lang=EN-US><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Hopefully you’ll be aware of some of the big highlights of
the extracurricular year, such as Freshers’ Fair which will be on Tuesday
October 5th- it really pays to start planning your ideas for this
over the Summer with your committee. You’ll receive more information on this
throughout the Summer so try to be contactable by email to stay in the loop.
<span lang=EN-US><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>In the background though, we have some training modules for
you to complete so that you know how to use all of the Union’s systems that
you’ll need to be a really effective officer. The position or positions that
you’ll be performing next year may have different training requirements.
Alternatively, if you’ve held a position this year this may allow you to be
exempt from some of the modules.<span lang=EN-US><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>This year, training has changed a lot, and is predominantly
online to allow you to carry it out at your leisure. Most modules average
around 15 minutes to complete. A full break down of all the modules available
and what is compulsory or optional can be found at <a
href="http://www.imperialcollegeunion.org/training">www.imperialcollegeunion.org/training</a>.
Please note that absolutely everyone has to do the Key Information training,
and if you are coming to a session in the Union, don’t forget to sign up
online. <span lang=EN-US><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Other than this, don’t forget that a handover from your
predecessor is also essential for a smooth transition, so do schedule some time
with them to go through all of the things specific to your Group. <span
lang=EN-US><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Best wishes, <span lang=EN-US><o:p></o:p></span></p>
