Dear Isobel,

Thank you for this magnificently presented news letter of ICCU. For your interest I was made a member of the ICCU committee in my second year,1947-48.

I have had a complex career, early on spending seven years at a young University in Jamaica, having been encouraged by IVF staff to apply for a vacancy there. In 1960 I returned to an impending vacancy in the Maths Dept of IC and I enjoyed fellowship on the General Counsel of IVF/UCCF  and of Christian In Science. I had 25 years on Maths Staff of IC before taking early retirement in 1985 to rejoin IFES for service in PNG, followed by Hungary and Sri Lanka. I cannot now relate how we were convinced of the Lord's directing us to each of these places. I was greatly blessed with a good wife who early on told me we needed to seek and follow the leading of our Lord. God the Holy Spirit remarkably guided and blessed our service.  I am now in Sheltered Accommodation in Chichester and news from different parts of the world is often both a call to prayer and a spiritual tonic. So news from ICCU is precious to me (aged 86). I tell you all this to let you know I pray for ICCU and UCCF, along with witness in other lands. Where will the Lord call some of you to serve Him if you commit yourselves to Him?

I make an annual donation to UCCF part of which is earmarked for ICCU. This is a joy. It has been enlightening to see how the Lord has been able to use generations of students in new way as they have responded to new opportunities. The Lord is faithful and will continue to guide and use you.
