Just to say there is already posters up. They were only done very quickly though so you may want to change them. Also you could produce some event specific publicity if you wanted???

Poster - great: Make sure it's A3 (obvs) and with very large, bold writing. If the info's not essential, keep it out. The most eye-catching posters I've seen at IC have been with
only a few words in white on a black background. Maybe something like that? Not sure what yours looks like so far ;)
I think it won't make much difference at this stage whether we charge £2 or free. The bigger issue is general publicity. I would expect about the same kind of turn-out either way, to be honest.
Philippians 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
It'll be great :)

Hey Chloe
Specific Illusion Night posters are a great idea, get them up!
I think we should keep the charge on the door, I honestly think more people will come if we do charge than if we don't. I think its a psychological thing, if people aren't paying then they'll expect the illusions to be really amateur. I don't think
there are a lot of people put off by £2, this is not an expensive event, in fact its very reasonable for a professional illusion night! My baguette for lunch cost more than £2.
Also I think we are unlikely to get much in terms of donations, I know Todd says there is no minimum charge for the night but we should really be giving him a decent amount for the night rather than a few people's small change.
Anyway, what does everyone else think?

Hi everyone!
Phoebe, Lisa and I have been chatting about the event and I’m feeling fairly worried. I want to propose some changes:
1)
No charge. If no one comes, it’ll suck! And it’ll be such a shame! I think Free would be the best policy, with ‘Donations Welcome’. Todd would be more disappointed if no one came because of the charge…
2)
Create posters specifically for this event – more easily visible/obvious as to what’s happening, and good because it’s a completely different type of event to lunchbars etc, and is aimed at a different/bigger audience, so should have a different
approach to publicity.
What do you think? In terms of implementing:
Phoebe and I have started doing a poster, which should be fine in black and white, hopefully to go out tomorrow.
I’ll also make the facebook page properly with the correct info.
I’ll also go round and take the price off the posters.
Opinions?
Chloe
