[Committee] Imperial College Illusion Night?

I agree, the bigger "Reality Check" show would be better, I think it would probably draw a bigger crowd.

Do you think it would work if we did it in SAF G16? There is a side room and corridor from the door at the left side at front of the room which may be useable for props.

Otherwise if we wanted to go with the great hall then we need £300 for the act and £300 for the room. At £5 per ticket we would need to sell 120 seats to break even. That doesn't sound too unreasonable.

My biggest worry with putting on a big ticketted event in mission week though would be the danger that we would spend all our publicity efforts on that at the expense of the other events.

If you don't think we can get the longer presentation then booking the shorter one would also be fine, I'm sure we could find a room.

Chloe, I would be inclined to get him booked for the evening of the 28 Jan as soon as you can, and let him know that we will tell him which of the presentations we want when we have worked out rooms with the union. Otherwise by the time we have rooms sorted it will probably be too late to book him.

>Right. I've read those pages and watched the video (it only takes 5 minutes btw everyone!) and the longer presentation looks a lot better. But the concert hall is booked, right? Is the stage in metric too small for his bigger presentation, or is the great hall the only venue in which that could be performed?

>If the great hall is the only option for the longer presentation, I'd sway towards going with his shorter presentation. But in metric if possible.

>I wondered if you could tell me a little bit about the proposed venue in that, if I'm travelling down to do my Stand-up Cabaret Show it's more flexible to perform in most venues. However if it was the full Reality Check Illusion Show you were requesting then a stage area is required in a larger venue, as this is a much larger production.

>I operate in a non profit way so any gifts received go directly to the show running costs, illusion licences, expenses, tracts etc. Normally for a stand-up Cabaret show churches tend to give in the £300 - £350 region, however this is NOT a requirement as budgets vary and the driving force is the presentation of the message not the money received! So I encourage groups just to give what they can afford for each event that I do.
