Hey peeps - get ready for a long email with lots of stuff...



Mission Week

As you know, we are still looking for a speaker. Following the meeting I had with Josh and Funmi on Wednesday, we are looking into the following possibilities:

  1.  Krish Kandiah - the main mission speaker, may be available some lunchtimes in the week. I've emailed Natasha to find out if he's still available, but not yet had any reply.
  2.  Vince Vitale - from the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics. He did some lunchbars at the OICCU mission lasy year. Josh is still waiting to hear about his availabilty.
  3.  Andy Towner - who spoke at HUB last week, and also used to run IMPACT, and therefore knows the Imperial scene well, and is experienced in giving talks. Still waiting to hear back.

Please pray we get a yes from one or more of the speakers.



CU Guests

It's very useful to have these guys around durign the week to do lots of practical jobs (e.g. set up the room) so the CU can concentrate on spending time with their mates. They are also excellent in chatting to people, following up conversations and being supportive in prayer.

  *   I've already have people from St Helen's and Christ Church Kensington offering.
  *   Funmi is asking Lydia from EEC who was here last year.
  *   Catriona who was an associate staff-worker last year has also offered.
  *   Last year, we had guys like Rich Criddle and Pete Snow - should we get these guys back?
  *   Any suggestions for others?

Next Week

On Wednesday 9th there will be no committee meeting. Instead we will head to All Souls Clubhouse (141 Cleveland St, W1T 6QG) from 2-5pm for training in how to make the most of mission week with the evangelist Michael Ots. It's a joint event with other CUs in London - will be epic! I suggest that the easiest thing is just to meet there at 2pm-ish.



Weekend Away

Andy Jack is doing an epic job organising this. Andy - please could you send round an update on how many people are signed up so far. It would be great to have a packed-out weekend, so if you see anyone at Church this Sunday from CU or anyone you've met this year - encourage them to sign up - it will be epic! I'm sure we can get the full 45 people - some people just need a bit of encouragement!



Please pray for Chris as he prepares talks/seminars and training.



Please pray for John Raftery - he takes his mini-bus test on Thursday! He needs to pass to make it easy for us to get there on Friday!

  *   The interview with William Lane Craig by comments editor Sam Horti: http://felixonline.co.uk/news/1691/interview-william-lane-craig/. This one has an interesting editorial comment which could be good to discuss with friends - not particulary sympathetic to Craig, so some discussion points there.
