[Committee] Couple of things...

Hi all,

Sorry for more constant emails.... another couple of things:

(1) Understandably, not many people can make a full committee meeting in the last week of term (since some have exams and others are flying home. Would people be able to make a 1 hour committee meeting next Wednesday at 5pm?? (I can't do earlier because my group project report is due in at 4pm, so before 4pm that day is critical time!!). Don't worry if you can't - please could people let me know, so I can get numbers.

(2) Carol Service speaker decision still hasn't been done. I realise that time is precious at the moment (especially if your course has "bio" or "chem" (or both!) in the title...). Don't worry if you don't have time to listen to everything. Me, Josh, Funmi and anyone else who's listened to all the options will meet to discuss at some point soon. Then we will propose the choice to the rest of the committee and ask you to support us. I think that's probably the best way to make an informed choice and pass exams.

Again, let me know if you've got any questions.

Prayer and Praise tonight in Skempton 301 if you can make it!

Thanks all,

Tom

Hi,

My top three choices are (in alphabetical order): Andrew Sach, Charlie Skrine, J John.

I can't remember, but thought I heard that Charlie Skrine is taken up already, in which case then my choices are Andrew and J John.

Regards,

Joel

Thanks for replying Funmi

J John has been giving talks at universities (and youth camps like Soul Survivor where he gave the big evangelism talk for years) so he would have absolutely no trouble with coming up with a talk for Imperial.

Could I ask everyone to please send me an email with your first and second choice for Carol Service speakers by the end of the weekend please, then we can make a decision soon.

Please do pray about mission week speakers (and Carol Service speakers).

Thanks

Josh

Thanks, Tom.

I thought the talk was very nice. He obviously got a good sense of humour and knows how to use that. He uses very clear illustrations and very unashamedly presents the truth of Jesus' purpose of coming to Earth. I think his slow, easy-going speech style might be particularly good for internationals.
It shouldn't be too hard for him to tailor his talk to science students.

Will definitely pray about other Mission week speakers.

Funmi

Hi all,

Hope things aren't too stressful with everything going on.

Firstly, after some to-ing and fro-ing with a website, I've managed to get the full J John talk.... it's too big to attach, so you can access it from my dropbox folder at the link below (hopefully! - could someone let me know if this works please, thanks) . . . have a listen if you get the chance - see whether you think he would be good for an Imperial carol service....

Secondly, unfortunately, Michael Ramsden is unable to do mission week.... so please be praying and thinking about getting other options....

Hope all is well,

Let me know any thoughts or questions on either of those things (or anything else)....

Thanks,

Tom
:)

p.s. Prayer and praise tomorrow night in Skempton 301.
