Hi Committee....


I thought it was about time I got in touch!  To let you know how things are shaping up for next term . . . so get ready for a long email!!  I've delegated some of you to take emails on certain things  - hope that's ok!  In no particular order . . . .

Freshers

  *   I'm in the process of drawing up a timetable of events for the first few weeks of term, so I can see what still needs planning/delegating.  I will be back in touch with people about that soon(ish).
  *   Any ideas for the Freshers Fair stall - please could you send to James Faux (who is coordinating the stall with Josh).

HUB

  *   Funmi, Guy and I have sketched out a rough plan for the term.  I am trying to arrange a meeting with Chris soon to finalise things.
  *   We thought that it would be nice, post-HUB, rather than going to the OC for food, we order food in, and have some games etc. out in the HUB venue to give people an easier chance to socialise and get to know each other.  This will be dependent on college/union letting us.

Impact

  *   Josh and I are going to meet Simon Pedley (CCM) soon to put ideas down for Impact.  Any burning ideas - let Josh know!
  *   We're thinking through whether we change the day of Impact, or if we keep it on Tuesdays.  There's pros and cons for almost any day.  If anyone has any thoughts, let Josh know.

William Lane Craig

  *   Josh has been working hard, and UCCF are keen for WLC to give a lunchtime lecture (hopefully on Tuesday 18th October), maybe live-streaming it to the internet!
  *   However, for UCCF to do it, we need to have a venue confirmed asap!  Obviously finding a big venue at Imperial which we can book for enough time to do setup and pack down is not going to be easy.

Mission Speaker

  *   We still don't have a mission speaker.  We've contacted Andrew Sach and he's still thinking it through.

Forum (5th-9th September)

  *   We need to get organising this.  Please could everyone coming to Forum send me an email listing what type of camping equipment they have (e.g. tents, stoves, cooking pots and pans) so I can work out what we  still need to beg/borrow/steal.
  *   I can't quite remember who's coming so please could everyone who's coming email me anyway.
  *   We will have Chris Rogers (secretary from LSE) staying with us on Forum.  He's the only one coming from the LSE committee so I said he could stay with us.
  *   Anyone who thinks they could provide a car for the weekend, please could you let me know (Caitlin - are you able to provide a car still?).

Prayer Points

  *   Freshers planning!
  *   The college/Union let us get takeaway food ordered in.
  *   We choose the best day to hold Impact.
  *   We can find a venue asap for the WLC lunchtime lecture.  Pray for Josh and Caitlin trying to sort this out.
  *   Pray we get a mission speaker.
  *   We're growing in our relationship with God over the Summer.
