Sorry guys. I didn't mean to send the meeting plan out to the committee. I was trying to send it to my college email.
Sorry for the junk mail

Subject: comm meeting plan 16 June
Meeting chairman: Zim
Time: 1 hr MAX
Things to discuss
Do a Bible bit and pray
Quick things: - Has anyone managed to look at any of the follow-up course material since last week? We will need to make a decision either at Forum/Autumn term. So continue to look into each and pray about it over summer. I’ll keep reminding you.
- Who is going to be around to help out with the CU stall at the college open day next week.
o AP: John to recruit a couple normal CU members to help with manning and setting up the stall?
o AP: Funmi to bring her laptop with CU slideshow. Also do a paper sign-up list (relevant info: email, entry year).
o AP: Tom R to stock up goody bags (already in CU locker) with treats (may need shopping), FREE Gospel and slips with CU contact info.
o AP: Zim to print off copies of questionnaires.
• CU Weekend Away
o Hopefully we have a venue booked by now!?
o Is our mission speaker able to make the CU weekend away? If not, let’s get a different speaker? We’ll try to get our mission speaker at HUB.
• Do we want to specify a book, or theme for the speaker or do we let him choose?
• What are the issues that we want the speakers talks to speak into/achieve. E.g. convincing us to do evangelism in the lead up to mission, convincing us to live distinctive lives at university, encouraging real unity amongst us.
o Seminars
• These are opportunities to address specific issues focused on evangelism in a more practical workshop kind of way. We have traditionally put the seminars into two categories:
• I am convinced about doing evangelism and I really want to crack on with it.
• I am not so convinced about evangelism and I need encouraging and the basics.
• Are these broad and good categories?
• We have 4 seminar slots to fill – 2 in each category. Let’s brainstorm possible ideas:
• How to reach International students?
• Playing sports and evangelism
• What is the gospel
• What if my friends simply aren’t interested
• How do I share the gospel
• Are you happy for Zim and John to take the ideas and make a decision on which seminars we’ll do?
• AP: John Raftery to find seminar speakers over the summer.
o Food
• Seb Wood and his fiancé Clare have said they are willing to be our cooks at the weekend away.
• AP: Funmi to get in touch with Seb and ask if he and Clare can cook for us at the weekend away. Funmi to allocate them a budget for food.
o Other stuff
• Can Funmi be official administrator for the weekend away?
• Stuff we haven’t talked about but will need deciding at some stage are:
• Transport – how are we going to get there and back
• Fees – how much do we charge CU members for it
• Bookstall – Chris Oldfield normally brings one along
• Program booklet – don’t design this yourself. Delegate to someone on committee to design and print.
• Mission Week slot – traditionally there is a seminar slot on Saturday, where the Evang Sec gets us excited about mission week and stuck in with doing some brainstorming.
• Music – will there be any musical equipment at venue we are allowed to use? Josh F, will at some point need to sort music for the weekend away. It’s also a good opportunity to get others in the CU to play music.
• Afternoon and Evening activities.
