Awesome (see below)! Thank God for easy opportunity to get more publicity for Mission Week.

Hi Jenny,
Thanks for emailing me about this. I would be more than happy for you to plug our Wednesday event of FREE Thinking week as a recommended event that people might like to attend during healthy living week.
The wednesday event is called 'Grill-a-Christian', and like the rest of FREE Thinking, it is all about people being open minded enough to ask the tough questions about the objections they might have about Christianity (or just life) and hearing the claims Christianity has in response. The idea of Grill-a-Christian is that people either come to just watch other people's questions get answered or they come along with questions of their own (literally any question they have), and there will be a panel of 4 knowledgable Christians who will give a response to their questions.
Grill-a-Christian will take place as part of FREE Thinking on Wednesday 27th Jan, from 12pm in Huxley 144, and will be repeated at 1pm as well.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to email me.
Thanks,
Zim

Hi Zim,
Thanks for submitting this. Another thing that I'm part of is the planning of Healthy Living Week which happens to coincide with your FREE thinking week. I think you also said before that HLW is something that you might like to get involved with as Christian Union.
In particular, we've given each day of the week a theme, and Wednesday is Healthy Mind, which we thought this might tie in with nicely (the other things were things like eating and exercise). So, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind us highlighting your event that is happening on Wednesday and putting it in the HLW planned activities? If this is something you would like to do, please could you send me the details of it (did it have a particular focus for that day?) as soon as possible!
Best wishes,

Hi Jenny,
This is a great idea! Here's some information from the Christian Union.
What club: Christian Union
When: Monday 25th January to Friday 29th January, 12pm each day (and repeated at 1pm).
Where: Union Dining Hall (1st floor of Union building).
If there is a cost: FREE
One sentence on what it is you do or why now is a good time to get into it: Why not take advantage of this brilliant opportunity to explore the Christian faith as the Christian Union puts on a whole week of events, titled 'FREE Thinking', looking at common objections the average Imperial student might have about the Christian Faith.
Club website for more details: www.iccu.co.uk<http://www.iccu.co.uk>
Contact details if someone wants more information: cu at ic.ac.uk<mailto:cu at ic.ac.uk>
Please feel free to email me if there are any issues.
Thanks,
Zim Okoli

Dear all,
I hope you are having a restful or productive break and had a great new year. One of the things that I’ve been up to is analysing the results of last years Clubs & Societies survey which yielded some interesting results.
In one category, it transpired that 30% of the survey participants would be more encouraged to join a club if there was a taster session. I am under the impression that most clubs run a policy that anyone can come along to their first session for free- or at least without joining the club if there is a cost in participation, so it seems to me that we have to publicise this a bit better.
What we’d like to do in the Union therefore, is try to tie in Clubs & Societies as a means that people can fulfill their New Years Resolutions. We’ll then compile this as a jazzy webpage which will provide details of all the things that clubs submit put into headings. For example under a heading of ‘Get fit’ we’d put a taster session of a sports clubs etc.
If you would like to put on a session in your club, that has a taster session feel to it some time in January, what we need from you is just briefly:
What club:
When:
Where:
If there is a cost: (though since this is a taster, try to keep it low cost)
One sentence on what it is you do or why now is a good time to get into it:
Club website for more details:
Contact details if someone wants more information:
This should be put in an email to me by MIDNIGHT THURSDAY 7th January, at DPCS at ic.ac.uk<mailto:DPCS at ic.ac.uk> and we’ll compile them and put this up in time for next week and the beginning of term. I know that isn't long, but it should only take you 2 seconds to fill out.
What’s in this for you? Well, hopefully you’ll be aware that this term is budgeting rounds for next year in the Club calendar. For those of you who are struggling to make your membership targets, consider this a second try at boosting your numbers. Or for those of you who have already reached them, higher membership numbers can help your case for any money you do apply for, either from the Union or when looking for sponsorship.
More info on budgeting will be following shortly as well.
Best wishes,
